THE PROBLEM:
Heartlands Hospital is a acute hospital 20+ buildings on the site. The new Treatment Centre has confusing levels and does not link easily with the rest of the site. Internal corridors are simple but appear confusing. Site users speak many languages and some do not understand English. Directional signs are out-of-date and inconsistent. Way outs and toilets are difficult to find.
